BMS College of Engineering Management Quota Admission 2026
Autonomous, NAAC A++, and one of Bangalore’s most central campuses. Here’s exactly how eligibility, seats, fees and admission work for the 2026 cycle.
About BMS College of Engineering
BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE) was founded in 1946 by Sri B. M. Sreenivasaiah, making it India’s first private engineering college. It is run by the BMS Educational Trust and located at Bull Temple Road, Basavanagudi — the most centrally located campus among the four colleges on this site.
BMSCE has been autonomous since 2008, is affiliated to VTU, approved by AICTE and holds the highest possible NAAC grade. Its ISO 14001:2015 certification reflects strong environmental and operational governance.

Rankings & Accreditation
Rankings shift year to year — call us for the current NIRF standing before relying on this figure for your 2026 decision.
Courses & Branches Offered
BMSCE offers a wide spread of undergraduate B.E. programmes, plus a five-year B.Arch — unusual among the four colleges on this site.
Call us for the current full list, as new specialisations are added periodically.
Seat Matrix & Management Quota
Like every private engineering college in Karnataka, BMSCE’s seats follow the Government of Karnataka’s consensual agreement with private college associations.
Some online sources quote very different management-quota shares for BMSCE (from 5% up to 30%) — treat any figure outside the ~25% legal ceiling with caution. Call us to confirm current-year availability by branch.
Admission Process for Management Quota
KCET 2026 is expected around April 23–24 with results June 6; COMEDK UGET 2026 around May 9 with results May 29. Management enquiries typically run March–July. Call us for confirmed 2026 dates, as KEA and COMEDK can shift schedules with short notice.
Eligibility Criteria
- Pass in 2nd PUC / Class 12 or equivalent, with Physics and Mathematics compulsory plus one optional (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics)
- Minimum 45% aggregate (general category), 40% for Karnataka reserved categories
- Valid KCET / COMEDK / JEE Main score — required even for management-route seats

Frequently Asked Questions
Is BMSCE autonomous?
Yes, BMSCE has held autonomous status since 2008, giving it flexibility over curriculum and examination scheduling within VTU and UGC guidelines.
What is the actual management quota percentage at BMSCE?
Online sources disagree (figures from 5% to 30% are quoted), which is itself a sign these are unreliable. The Karnataka-wide legal ceiling is approximately 25%. Call us to confirm the current-year position.
Does BMSCE offer merit scholarships?
Yes. BMSCE offers 100% tuition waivers to select KEA-admitted students including top-CET-rank students and sports achievers. Ask us about current eligibility criteria.
Can I pay BMSCE fees through an agent or consultant?
No. BMSCE’s own process requires the demand draft to be drawn directly from the parent’s account and paid to the BMS Educational Trust. Never route college fees through a third party.
Is BMSCE’s B.Arch programme part of management quota?
B.Arch admission in Karnataka typically follows a separate process (NATA-based) distinct from B.E. management quota. Call us for specifics if you’re considering this route.
