About Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology

Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir MVIT) was established in 1986 by the Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust. The college sits on a 133-acre campus — the largest among the four colleges on this site — near Hunasamaranahalli on International Airport Road, close to Yelahanka.

Unlike RVCE, BMSCE and DSCE, Sir MVIT is not an autonomous institution — it is permanently affiliated to VTU, meaning curriculum and examinations follow the university’s schedule. It is approved by AICTE and holds NAAC A grade accreditation.

Eligibility Criteria

• Pass in 2nd PUC / Class 12 or equivalent, with Physics and Mathematics compulsory plus one optional subject
• Minimum 45% aggregate (general category), 40% for SC/ST and OBC Karnataka categories (Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B)
• Valid KCET / COMEDK / JEE Main score required even for management-route seats
• No Karnataka domicile requirement for management/NRI seats

Campus & Hostel Facilities

Sir MVIT’s 133-acre campus near Yelahanka is the largest of the four colleges on this site. Facilities include fully equipped department and project labs, an automated library, campus-wide Wi-Fi, a multi-gym, sports department, medical facility and around 11 R&D centres. Separate boys’ and girls’ hostels are available on campus.
